Yes yes yes! This piece provides some great food for thought on one of my biggest struggles in US II. But students are often very cognizant of the fact that their high school history classes left off after 1965, and are excited to read Huey Newton, even as they are sadly surprised at the sophistication of black thought in this period. Connecting in things like the ADA as part of a longer civil rights conversation is also helpful.
